Bitcoin Countries
Bolivia reversed one of the world's earliest and most comprehensive Bitcoin bans in June 2024, when the Central Bank of Bolivia issued Resolution 082/2024 authorizing cryptocurrency transactions through regulated electronic channels. Monthly crypto trade volume surged from $7.6 million in the first half of 2024 to $15.6 million average per month in Q3 2024 following the reversal. While Bitcoin is not legal tender, banks and regulated entities can now legally process crypto transactions.
