Coldcard Mk4

The COLDCARD Mk4 is a Bitcoin-only hardware wallet from Coinkite designed for security-first users and advanced Bitcoin operators. It features dual secure elements (ATECC608B + SE050), air-gapped signing via MicroSD card or QR codes, full PSBT support, and a physical numeric keypad — no USB data connection required during signing. The Mk4 is the standard recommendation for technically proficient Bitcoiners who prioritize security over ease of use, and it supports multisig and custom spending policies.

Ledger Nano X

Ledger Nano X is Ledger's flagship Bluetooth-enabled hardware wallet, released in 2019. It supports over 5,500 cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin and offers wireless connectivity for use with the Ledger Live mobile app on iOS and Android. The Nano X features a larger screen than its predecessors, a built-in battery for mobile use, and can store up to 100 apps simultaneously. Despite Ledger's controversial 2023 Ledger Recover announcement (which revealed that firmware could theoretically expose seed phrases), the Nano X remains one of the world's most widely used hardware wallets.

Trezor Model T

The Trezor Model T is a premium hardware wallet from SatoshiLabs featuring a 1.54-inch color touchscreen and USB-C connectivity, launched in 2018. It supports Bitcoin, major cryptocurrencies, and ERC-20 tokens via the open-source Trezor Suite desktop and browser app. The Model T introduced Shamir Backup (SLIP39), which splits the seed into multiple shares for more resilient recovery. As of 2024 it has been largely superseded by the Trezor Safe 5 with its improved secure element architecture.
