Cold Storage
The Cypherock X1 is a hardware wallet that eliminates the single-point-of-failure of a traditional seed phrase by splitting the private key into five shares using Shamir's Secret Sharing — stored across the X1 Vault and four NFC-enabled X1 Cards. Users only need any two of the five pieces (1 vault + 1 card) to sign transactions, while keeping remaining cards in separate locations. The device uses EAL6+ certified secure elements throughout and the firmware is fully open source.
